Ayesha Omar has been working in the helping profession for over five years, and has been volunteering in the social services field for much longer. Ayesha has a Masters in Counselling from Athabasca University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
With many years of studying and working within the field of mental health, substance use, and social issues, Ayesha has a nuanced understanding of social, political, and cultural issues as they affect the individual.
Ayesha works from a trauma focused, culturally sensitive and person-centred approach with all of her clients. She believes mental health is an important part of each person’s life and that there should be no stigma in bettering one’s life.
Ayesha enjoys reading books, having a cup of coffee, and spending time with friends and family when she is not in sessions.
